Planting New Beliefs In Your Subconscious Mind

Once you have uncovered your inner beliefs around money, you can begin planting new beliefs in your subconscious mind. But it’s important to stop giving energy to the old beliefs, because you’ll be working against yourself if you still do. So for example, if you have a belief from your childhood, something like “life’s a struggle” and you keep giving thoughts to this idea, a new (opposite) idea e.g. “money comes easily”, will be more difficult to “plant”.

Once you uncover your limiting beliefs around money, it is easier to see where you are giving your energy. You can then create a mantra to replace your old ones. So, for example, you would replace a limiting mantra for a positive one. Here’s a few examples of what that might look like:

“Life’s a struggle” becomes “I enjoy life”

“I always struggle to earn” becomes “I enjoy my work”, or “I’m passionate about what I do”

“Money is always a problem/I’m always broke” becomes “money comes easily and frequently”.

“Rich people are greedy” becomes “Rich people are generous/provide”.

Mantras To Replace Existing Negative Beliefs

Once you have found an old belief and observed your thinking around it, you can begin to undo the damage. First, stop repeating the negative phrase to yourself or others. If you’ve been in the habit of complaining that “life is hard”, for example, for a long time, this isn’t easy. You’re beginning to undo a lifetime of planting negative “seeds” in your mind and plant some new ones.

Remember the old seeds will have been reinforced for many years, with constant “watering”! So it’s a good idea to go easy on yourself in the beginning. Just observe your thinking in this regard. You can observe your thinking as relating to:

  • Money, abundance, or lack and limitation
  • Self worth
  • How you feel about your work
  • How you feel about spending money

Once you have loosened its grip on you, you can start to replace the old, negative mantras with new positive more empowering ones.

Observing & Replacing Old Mantras With New

Once you start noticing yourself repeating an old mantra, or a negative limiting belief, stop. Notice what you are doing. You’re giving more energy to a belief which no longer serves you. Choose a new mantra which you can repeat instead. Replace your anxious thinking with your new mantra. By choosing a positive mantra, and repeating it in times of stress, you can begin to embed it in your subconscious mind. You’ll also be replacing your previously old thinking patterns with a new, more positive and abundant mantra.

Start with a single mantra which is easy to remember and which directly replaces an old, limiting belief. Find one which you are comfortable with, even if it isn’t true yet.

So for example, if your new mantra is “money comes easily and frequently” and you’re replacing an old belief that “I always struggle with money”, your new mantra may not be true for you yet. Don’t worry about this because it will feel slightly wrong at first. Just keep repeating your mantra. Over time, your old mantra will lose its power over you, and will be replaced by your new one.

I did this exercise and I can definitely say it changed my reality. However, it took a long time to achieve it. Remember you will have been repeating your old belief/mantra for a very long time. So give it time and keep going!
